Bajaj Housing will not need more capital in the next few years: Sanjiv Bajaj
Bajaj Housing Finance Ltd will not need additional capital for its growth in the coming years following its recent IPO, which raised ₹6,560 crore. Sanjiv Bajaj, CMD of Bajaj Finserv and chairman of Bajaj Housing Finance, stated that the company aims to develop a business model similar to HDFC’s, focusing on excellence and scale. This IPO, the first for the group in 31 years, will result in Bajaj Finance’s stake in the housing finance company being diluted by 11%. To comply with SEBI’s regulations, the promoter’s stake will need to be reduced to 75% over the next three years. Bajaj noted that the company will assess its investor mix post-IPO and plans to build a diversified portfolio without relying on private equity, given its strong capital market access.
