On inheriting his adopted grandfather Bachhraj’s business empire at the tender age of seventeen a shrewd and alert Jamnalal kept himself informed of market trends by continually travelling and meeting people from the cotton trade. In 1915, Bajaj opens an office in Bombay under the trade name Bachhraj Jamnalal.

Deccan Ayurvedashram Pharmacy Ltd. is established. The company is renamed as Bajaj Consumer Care Ltd. on 19 June, 1940
Hindustan Sugar Mills Ltd. marked Jamnalal’s entry into the sugar industry. In the year 1988, The Hindusthan Sugar Mills Limited was renamed as Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Limited.
