Minal Bajaj Joins Advisory Board of Satyarthi Movement for Global Compassion
Minal Bajaj, Honorary Director at the Jamnalal Bajaj Foundation, has joined the Advisory Board of the Satyarthi Movement for Global Compassion (SMGC). This global movement, born from the legacy of Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi, is dedicated to igniting ‘Compassion in Action’ worldwide, building on his four decades of groundbreaking efforts as a social reformer.
Minal Bajaj has long been recognized for her unwavering commitment to supporting grassroots change-makers, especially women. As a key figure behind the Jamnalal Bajaj Awards, one of India’s longest-running awards that celebrates individuals embodying Gandhian values, Minal has played a vital role in amplifying the voices of grassroots leaders. Representing the Bajaj family, she exemplifies compassionate business leadership, a quality essential to the world today.
Since 2009, Minal has led various initiatives at the Jamnalal Bajaj Foundation, extending her influence across diverse fields, including sports, arts, and cultural initiatives. She has also established her own NGO focused on empowering marginalized urban women and spearheaded the creation of the Bajaj Family Archives, preserving the legacy of her family’s values.
Minal Bajaj firmly believes that compassion is inherent in all of us, and she emphasizes the importance of nurturing it. “I feel we all are born with compassion, and there are various verticals we can explore to foster this,” she says. “If we all work together, focusing on compassion and making it a core part of education—especially in schools, colleges, and universities—it can become a transformative tool. Compassion should be a mandatory course, especially for children and youth, as it holds the potential to create lasting, positive change in the world.”
Her dedication to social change and her proven leadership makes Minal Bajaj an invaluable addition to the Advisory Board of SMGC, where her guidance will help further the movement’s mission of compassion and global impact.
