Remembering Sunaina Kejriwal: A Champion of Art and Philanthropy
Sunaina Kejriwal, the director of the Kamalnayan Bajaj Hall and Art Gallery, passed away in Mumbai on October 5 at the age of 53 after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. A member of the prominent Bajaj family, Sunaina was the daughter of industrialist Rahul Bajaj and the wife of Manish Kejriwal, founder and managing partner of Kedaara Capital. She is survived by her husband and two sons, Aryaman and Nirvaan.
Educated in the arts, Sunaina earned a Post Graduate Diploma from the Bhau Daji Lad Museum and a bachelor’s degree in textiles from S.N.D.T. College, Pune, complemented by a course in silk screen printing. She assumed directorship of the Kamalnayan Bajaj Hall & Art Gallery in June 2008, where she fostered a vibrant space for artistic and cultural engagement, supporting emerging artists and nurturing heritage. Sunaina was deeply committed to philanthropic initiatives, reflecting her family’s enduring legacy of social responsibility. Her passions included pottery, theatre, and travel, all of which enriched her contributions to Mumbai’s cultural landscape.
