Mukand Limited

Steel Division – Mukand Ltd. at their Hospet plant produces alloy and carbon steel billets and blooms in sizes varying from 160 to 280 mm. The alloy steel billets and blooms are procured exclusively by Mukand Sumi Special Steel Limited, a Joint Venture Between Jamnalal Sons Private Limited and Sumitomo Corporation, Japan.  With over 400 grades and specifications, they supply products such as  roller and ball bearing steel, cold heading quality steel, free cutting steel, micro alloyed steel, spring steel, carbon and alloy steel in the form of Bars, Bright Bars, Wire Rods & Wires. These steels are mainly used in automotive and engineering industries for the manufacture of transmission parts, engine components, bearings, high tensile fasteners, fuel injection systems, braking systems, suspension parts, etc.

Mukand Ltd. at their Thane plant produces stainless steel Bars and Wire Rods in sizes ranging from 5.5 mm to 180mm in supply conditions such as stress relieved, solution annealed, pickled, hardened and tempered. Some of the rolled products are procured by the Joint Venture – Mukand Sumi Metal Processing Limited and further finished into bright bars in sizes ranging from 5.0 mm to 180 mm diameter. With over 200 grades and specifications, Mukand supplies products such as austenitic, ferritic, martensitic and duplex steels. These steels are mainly used in petrochemical, food, automotive and engineering industries.

Industrial Machinery Division – This division is in the business of design, manufacture, assembly and commission of heavy duty equipment such as EOT cranes upto a carrying capacity of 500 tons, port cranes, bulk material handling equipment, heavy machinery for ferrous and non-ferrous industries, etc.

With financial support from Niraj Bajaj Trust, the company has been involved in activities in the field of education in Shahapur taluka which is the largest taluka in Thane district. The company aims to help every child in Shahapur to achieve a minimum education level of class 10.

To facilitate this goal, the company supports nearly 10,000 students studying in classes 8,9 and 10 across 45 deserving schools in Shahapur. These students are provided with school uniforms, text books and note books to ease the financial burden of parents who would otherwise feel compelled to discontinue the education of their children. Free math tuitions are also being provided by the company for the students in most of these schools while it also provides a nutritious snack to the children three times a week.
