Over a century ago, a philanthropist, humanitarian, social reformer, freedom fighter and a close associate of Mahatma Gandhi, instinctively took the unprecedented step of using business to serve society. He was the founder of the Bajaj Group, Jamnalal Bajaj. He strongly believed that “common good was more important than individual gain”. Closely following his footsteps was wife Jankidevi Bajaj. His philosophy which has stood the test of time was successfully taken forward by his sons Kamalnayan Bajaj and Ramkrishna Bajaj and is now spearheaded by Rahul Bajaj.
The Group now stands tall in the corporate world. For society however, Bajaj is more than a corporate identity. It is a catalyst for social empowerment. Presented on this and the next pages is a birds’ eye view of this aspect of the Bajaj Group.
